MS-DOS Disk MAAD
Presented by Colin Justason
This is the fourth of the TPUG PC disks, MAAD. M = MS-DOS AAD = DISK ID.
RAMDISK - This system will allow you to create a Ramdisk which can then be
removed or resized as required. A very useful utility if you are familiar with
the benefits of a ramdisk. If you are not familiar then read the docs and try
it, you will soon be convinced.
PTSET - This is another RAM Resident program which will allow you to control a
IBM GRAPHICS PRINTER. It may work with others, it works with some EPSONS and
COMPATIBLES however you will have to see if it is better than NU-EPSON from
the MAAA disk.
DESKMATE - This is a utility which allows you to have a on screen clock and
call up as required a calculator, calendar, notepad, dos commands etc. I have
used this but found it conflicted with a few things that I was trying out
however feel it may be just the thing for some of you who find commercial
software of this type a bit too expensive. Check this price out, a bargain at
twice the price.
E88 - This is a very simple file editor that seems to offer more features than
programs that claim to be WordProcessors. It allows you select your own
colours etc and seems quite good. I renamed it to work with Qfiler (disk MAAB)
and have tried it out on BAT files etc all which work fine. A good little
editor so far.
MAAD is again, a shareware/freeware disk and you should let your conscience
guide you but I suggest that if you are going to use these programs, that you
should pay the programmer something for his effort, if you find the program
useful. Most of the programmers make contribution suggestions which do not
seem out of line, in fact most are a steal for the quality of their work. I
have separated the programs with dummy files starting with a - and an ext of -
--. These files are blank and can be deleted once you are familiar with the
different files and what is required for each program.
